Iron Man Competition:

Eight intrepid competitors, urged on by many onlookers, took part in the Bradwell Outdoors SigneTs Iron Man. Starting off the slipway they swam first across the creek, then crawled out of the water to get on their waiting bikes to cycle along the sea wall halfway to the power station and back then run back along the sea wall to the end of the caravan site, returning to finish at the slipway. Coming out of the water Alice was the early leader before being overhauled on the bikes by Mike, who in turn was overtaken by Matt, though by the run Matt was overtaken by 6 year old Luke. The first Iron Man over the line was Mike, the first Iron Woman was 15 year old Alice, and the youngest Iron Person was 6 year old Luke, with Mike and Luke being presented with prizes for this at the prize-giving.
